In February 2025, a group of 73 enthusiastic students and 7 dedicated teachers embarked on an exciting four-day adventure to London from February 11th to 14th. With a train journey from Lyon to London, anticipation was high as they set off to explore a city rich in culture and history.
After an early start at Part-Dieu railway station and arriving safely in London around 7 hours later, the group checked into the Blue Daws Hotel in Paddington, offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere in central London.
Exploring the Culture and History
After offloading their luggage and settling in, the students set off to explore several iconic London landmarks including Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. Over the following four days they visited renowned museums, including the British Museum, the Natural History Museum, and the Victoria & Albert Museum, where they enjoyed stunning panoramic views of the city. One highlight was a visit to the Globe Theatre, where they witnessed actors rehearsing a performance Macbeth.

Theatrical Evenings & Culinary Delights
From the gripping drama of Witness for the Prosecution to the high-energy musical Hamilton and the uproarious comedy The Play That Goes Wrong, there was truly something for everyone. These shows not only entertained but also sparked animated discussions among students and with their teachers, fostering connections through shared interest and laughter.
Every day started with a delicious English breakfast of bacon, eggs and toast at the hotel. Lunch at Borough Market, known for its incredible variety of food stalls offering mouth-watering dishes ranging from spicy curries to fish & chips, was a highlight of the week: the market was a hive of activity, and students enjoyed sampling different foods together, making mealtimes a lively social event. In Camden Town, students were set free to explore the vibrant shops selling unique souvenirs and sampling diverse foods at the Camden Lock stalls.

A Truly Memorable Experience
Overall, the whole trip went very smoothly, a welcome relief after the travel challenges faced in previous years due to strikes and disruptions. The seamless experience was a result of meticulous planning by M. Badou and the dedicated support from all teachers. Their commitment ensured that students enjoyed a productive and educational trip, filled with experiences that sparked curiosity and fostered lifelong memories.
