The Anglophone Section celebrated the rentrée en masse with a Back-to-School picnic organised by the Social Committee on Sunday 24 September, when over 200 parents and children gathered in the Jardin d'Erevan park near the Confluence. The weather was perfect - sunshine and a nice breeze to keep us cool. The park setting meant that children were able to play freely with their friends while the adults caught up over a shared buffet lunch and cold drinks, meeting up with old friends and making some new ones. Huge thanks are due to Keiko Shibuya and her team of volunteers for organising the event and helping everything to run smoothly on the day.
The Volunteer Committee works hard throughout the year to organise social events for parents, children and families ranging from picnics, apèros and potluck suppers, to more organised school events like the Christmas Market, the Book Fair, the Halloween Party and the primary School Fair (Kermesse). Parents: watch this space - you'll be soon be hearing more about all the fun ways to get involved in the social life of the Anglophone Section!
