International Women's Day (8th May each year) is a global event that celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women across the world. The day also marks a "call to action" to accelerate equality. Across the world groups come together to celebrate women's achievements and to campaign for equality. At CSI the Anglophone Section joined forces with our colleagues in the other International Sections to create a display that showcases the achievements of women from our various "home" nations.
In the Anglophone Section women from the UK and the USA were nominated by APESA staff. Many of them are inspiring figures from literature and history that our students are already familiar with. Ms Rozé created slides, which have been displayed on tv screens around the school, and a vibrant wall display for some of the classrooms.
The Anglophone Section is proud to support International Women's Day - so much so that we've decided to keep our display up for "International Women's Month"!
Ms Coghlan's 6eme class also created posters of inspiring women from around the world.
